Operation Community Hamper is coming to the Mem on Saturday 7th December at our match with Bolton Wanderers and the team need Gasheads help.
As we’re sure you are aware this is the brainchild of Gashead Charlotte Churchill who, along with her team of like minded people aim to make 1000 Christmas hampers for those in need. The OCH team realised that help is not just required at Christmas and have helped people throughout the year not just with food but with fuel bills, clothing and furniture if required. They have recently become a charity, hence the name change to Operation Community Hamper, although as its Christmas they are Operation Christmas Hamper (look out for them at Easter when they will be Operation Chocolate Hamper!) OCH have also sourced bespoke presents for everyone in each of the 1000 families.
As in previous years the hampers will be made up of ‘luxury’ items. Things that many of us take for granted at Christmas but for some families are out of reach. Items that are needed to go in to the hampers are shown below
Your donations would go a long way to helping OCH reach their goal and donations will be collected in the Fan Zone at Saturday’s game. The collectors will have donation buckets and card readers should you prefer to donate money. Alternatively you can donate to the charity using the just giving page
