Dean Whitestone has been the referee for matches involving Bristol Rovers on 16 previous occasions.  In those matches there have been 5 victories for Bristol Rovers, 8 defeats and 3 draws.

He has been in charge of 13 Port Vale matches in total. The Valiants won 6, drew 4 and lost 3 of those matches. He was last in charge of a Port Vale match when they lost 1-0 to the Wiltshire Robins back in August 2016.
