The Pirate: on sale from our lovely sellers tomorrow

Feb 2, 2018 | News

Our matchday programme, The Pirate, now consists of 88 pages and costs only £3.00, and is on sale from our Supporters Club sellers tomorrow. Why not buy a 50/50 ticket at the same time?

This season’s issue is packed full of news and views from an eclectic mix of contributors, all writing about Bristol Rovers and those articles sit side by side with a wide range of articles on club matters.

In Saturday’s programme, for our game against Shrewsbury Town, our chair Jim Chappell writes about our sponsorship of the academy, manager Darrell Clarke pens his own notes, and we have a match report our most recent Development game as well as an in-depth look at our Academy U-13 squad, who will be introduced to supporters on Saturday.

In addition, we feature a profile of First Year Scholar Jamie Bremner.

Our programme cover features the celebrations that followed Rory Gaffney’s goal at Doncaster last weekend, while Tom Nichols is featured in our centre spread.

Don’t forget our extensive historical section, either, as this week we take a look back at February 2003, a month that saw the launch of the Supporters Club Share Scheme.

It also began with a home defeat at the hands of Carlisle United which saw Ray Graydon’s side booed off at the final whistle.

Also, catch Stephen Byrne’s Rovers’ Miscellany, an article in which he looks at high scoring Rovers matches down the years, including a 7-0 win against Shrewsbury in March 1964.

In addition we carry interviews with Ryan Sweeney and Marc Bola, while it’s Adam Smith’s turn to be the dressing room DJ in this week’s edition of Pirate Sounds, brought to you by Lance Cook.

We also manage to squeeze in details of our two new signings, Tony Craig and Kyle Bennett who joined us on Thursday.

The Pirate is available from the club shop and sellers around the stadium and still only £3.00; why not purchase a copy this weekend and see what you think?
