The 19 year old defender links up with Darrell Clarke’s squad straight away and will be in the squad that travels to our pre-season training camp in Portugal next week.
Speaking after arriving in BS7 on Friday Marc said; “I had a phone call telling me that Rovers were interested in signing me on loan and I was delighted to come down here to sign.
“I have been at Arsenal now for seven years and I have come up through the ranks, so it has been a good learning experience for me.
“I can’t wait to fly out to Portugal with the team and, hopefully, I can train well out there and impress the manager and then look ahead to the first game of the season.”
Darrell was pleased to have been able to bring the defender to the club and said; “Mark is highly rated by Arsenal and I would like to thank them for allowing him to join us on loan.
“He gained valuable league experience with Notts County last season and his arrival means that we now have competition for every position along the back line.”
Marc signed his first pro contract for The Gunners in April 2016 following an impressive second season as a scholar.
Born in Greenwich, Marc joined Notts County on loan in January of this year and made his league debut in a 2-0 defeat at Accrington on 4th February and went on to appear in 13 EFL League Two games for The Magpies before returning to his parent club.
Marc was be in the squad for the pre-season game against Gloucester City.
