Committee Clips: Sunderland coach fare set

Oct 22, 2018 | Committee clips, News

At our Committee meeting on October 10th we turned our attention to the forthcoming trip to Sunderland. Rovers have not played on Wearside since the 26th September 1992 when we achieved a 1-1 draw in at the ‘Black Cats’ former stadium Roker Park. With this being a ‘new ground’ for most ‘Gasheads’ we are expecting a lot of interest. It’s certainly not every day that Rovers get to play on a stage like this.

Setting a fair price for our coach/es for this trip has not been straightforward because of the distance involved. Two drivers will be required for each coach which makes this significantly the most expensive price per coach of this or probably any season! By using our normal formula for calculating the cost of coach seats we arrived at a figure of £47 for members. However, the Committee thought this would be too expensive and therefore we have decided on a capped cost of £40 for members and £45 for non-members. We hope that this will prove acceptable to our supporters for THE away trip of the season!

Also at our meeting on the 10th the Committee voted for Rovers’ ‘Goal of the Month’, (remember those?), for September for Ollie Clarke’s strike against Coventry as the unanimous winner. Hope you agree!
