Both Gas Girls sides made winning starts as they returned to league action on Sunday.
Following their promotion last season our first team are now playing in the Northern Division of the South West Regional Women’s Football League and they opened up with an impressive 4-1 win at a blistering hot Almondsbury. Zoe Fielden Stewart opened the scoring before Lily Greenslade hit a hat-trick on not only her debut for the Gas Girls but her debut playing in senior football.
Our Development side, who remain in Division Two of the Gloucestershire County Womens’ Football League, triumphed 8-4 over Cheltenham Civil Service Ladies in a high scoring affair at Lockleaze Sports Centre. Tamsin Shipley hit a hat-trick and Zoe Jones added two more goals with the rest of the scoring being completed by Glover, Hall and Douglas.
Our first team are in WFA Cup action this weekend playing at Pucklechurch Sports Ladies while our Development side are in league action on the road at City of Gloucester Women. Both games kick-off at 2pm.
