The Gas Girls made it through to the first qualifying round of the WFA Cup after a thrilling  4-2 win at higher league Chipping Sodbury Ladies in what can only be described as their best achievement and performance yet.

Libby Bell gave them an early lead scoring directly from a corner before outstanding individual efforts from Rossana Rocha and Jess Lumber gave us a 3-0 interval lead.

The second half was a different matter as our hosts came roaring back and reduced the arrears with two fine goals. Our girls could have buckled at this point but they are made of pretty stern stuff and dug in and battled, with Jen Atherton making the game safe with our fourth goal deep in stoppage time.

The Gas Girls are next in action on Sunday, 4th October when they play in the first qualifying round. In the meantime everyone is excitedly waiting for the draw.
