Mark Everton Walters who had, despite his name, enjoyed a long career with Liverpool, was born in Birmigham on this day in 1964.

One England cap, three Scottish League championships and two Scottish League Cup wins (both times scoring in the final) are amongst the honours accrued in a twenty year career of over 500 matches with Aston Villa, Rangers, Liverpool, Stoke City, Wolves, Southampton, Swindon Town, and finally Rovers.

Mark played for Rovers from November 1999 until April 2002, making 46 (plus 36 as substitute) league appearances scoring 13 goals, before enjoying many years in non-league football in the midlands.
