The Match Officials for Bristol Rovers match against Walsall Town have been announced.

The referee for the fixture on the 21st of January 2017 is the experienced Nigel Miller from County Durham.



The 56 year old referee has taken charge of Walsall matches on 9 separate occasions. Walsall have lost 5 of those games and only won once. He has been the referee for Bristol Rovers on six occasions.

Nigel Miller was the whistle blower, giving the Bantams two penalties, on September 10th 2011 in a 2-2 draw at Valley Parade against Bradford City. Back in February 2011, he was in charge when Leyton Orient won 4-1 at Brisbane Road. The other Away games in which Bristol Rovers have been officiated by Nigel Miller were 1-1 Away draws at Carlisle United and Darlington.

Nigel Miller was the referee on Saturday 23rd April 2016 when Exeter City were beaten 3-1 at The Memorial Stadium. Billy Bodin, Lee Brown and Matty Taylor scored the goals in that match.

His last visit to The Mem was on Saturday 19th November 2016 for the 0-0 draw with Milton Keynes Dons.
