With just two home games remaining before Christmas, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you of how you can help the Supporters Club and also, perhaps, purchase a last minute Christmas gift for the Gashead in your life (or even for yourself!).
First of all, a reminder that we continue to collect money for the sponsorship of caps for Nick Anderton and for Marcus Stewart.
In Nick’s case, we are hoping to see him at the Memorial Stadium very soon so that we can present him with his cap and the very generous donation of over £2,000 collected thanks to your generosity.
We know that Marcus will be at our game against Exeter City on 29th December and his cap will be presented then, as will a cheque representing collections on his behalf for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation.
As for Christmas gift ideas, then it is possible to sponsor a cap for any of the current playing squad and the cost is £50 for Supporters Club members and £60 for non members.
We are also stocking Keith Brookman’s latest book, The Bristol Rovers Archive Volume Three, which costs £10 and there are many more items for sale in our matchday shop which is located in the main car park at The Mem.
Thank you to all who have responded to our appeal for relatives of pre war Rovers players to come forward. So far, we have been contacted by relatives of William James Morgan, Wilfred Smith, William Panes, Alexander Smeaton and John Baker Muir.
In addition, we have accepted sponsorship requests for the caps of the following players; Michael Tippett, David Hudd, Wayne Powell and David Lawrence. Due to receive their caps in the next week or so are ‘Josser’ Watling, Mike Trought and Paul Lewis.
Thanks to all for the continued backing for the Bristol Rovers Supporters Club. Please contact chairman@bristolroverssc.co.uk regarding the collections for Nick and Marcus For cap sponsorship or The Bristol Rovers Archive Book contact secretary@bristolroverssc.co.uk
