Both candidates have made written submissions and both have agreed to take part in an Open Forum evening on Monday 21st November, in the executive lounge in the clubhouse, starting at 7.30 pm.

Submission for Kenneth Masters to stand to represent Bristol Rovers Supporters Club as Associate Director
The Supporters Club has always played a massive part in the survival of Bristol Rovers and richly deserves its place at the highest level in the management structure of the Football Club. Thousands of pounds have been raised by supporters, through numerous schemes over many years, culminating in the highly original share scheme initiative. The Football Club and the Supporters Club are closer now than ever before. This has got to be good for all of us with a keen interest in the fortunes and success of Bristol Rovers.
The representation of the Supporters Club on the Board gives us the opportunity to influence strategic planning, the consultation process and decision making. We have the continuing opportunity to listen, express opinions, communicate and make positive contributions to the infrastructure, supporter’s amenities, playing fortunes and the general well being of Bristol Rovers. The Football Club deserves acceptance in the community and a wider understanding of its role in the life Bristol and the surrounding area. This acceptance does not come easily and we are in a position where we need to work hard for it. The Supporters Club and The Football Club can work together to tackle the challenges of local issues and to demonstrate the interests of our Football Club in the wider community, welfare, education and an ordered society.
I believe I have the energy, flexible working time, skills and experience to fulfil the role at Board level as a representative of the Supporters Club. I am qualified to Masters Degree level in Project Management and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. I am a former college principal and managing director of a sports and leisure centre. I have experience at board level, currently on the board of a company providing online education materials to schools and supporting schools to improve the examination grades of young people. I am an experienced presenter and communicator with good diplomatic and negotiating skills. I have a strong empathy with the Filton College links and with the strides that the Football Club is making with education through the “Playing for Success” funding stream. I have been instrumental in setting up meetings in the North to enable us to share good practice with other providers of football club based community education programmes. I am currently working on conference programme that will engage our football club in the “Extended schools day” initiative.
I am a keen participant in sport. Thank you to Gasheads who joined with me in “Running with Rovers” and did so well in the 2005 Bristol Half Marathon. I have run junior football teams from U-8 to U-16 in the Bristol area and in the Midlands.
My strengths are hard work, commitment, teamwork, loyalty, accountability and belief. Above and beyond all else, Bristol Rovers is my life long passion, my heritage, my roots and a big part of my life. I put myself forward to represent supporters like me. Thank you very much indeed for taking the time to read these notes.
