Stepping on the Gas with Rovers Runners
Rovers runners will be lining up again this year to take part in the second largest Half Marathon event in the country.
The RBK Bristol Run is scheduled for Sunday September 17th. The entry lines opened on February 20th and all supporters over the age of 17 are eligible. Twelve Gasheads had already put their names forward before the Stockport County game. Runners may choose to enter online by going on to wwwbristolhalfmarathon.com or by posting an entry form to FR Systems. Rovers Runners organiser, Ken Masters has received an allocation of twenty five forms from the City Council and would be pleased to forward one to any Rovers fan wishing to enter this way.
The race limit has been raised to 15,000 this year and the closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 7th July or sooner if the race is full. As demand is expected to be very high it is better to enter as early as possible. Many would-be runners left it too late last year and were disappointed not to be able to take part in a Rovers vest. All those who did “Run with Rovers” enjoyed a very good day and were proud to show their true blue and white colours. Many completed the race in personal best times.

Five local primary schools benefited from Runners efforts in 2005. Money will be used for sports kit and other priorities or to upgrade and restock the school library as in the case of Ashley Down Junior School.
