London Gas September Drinks
September 2, 2006
Our monthly get together will be held on Wednesday 6 September in our usual haunt of The Golden Fleece in the City of London.
The new season is under way and already there has been plenty to talk about – the poor start to the season; Junior’s departure; his replacement’s arrival; another budding international on our books(!!); the stadium regeneration plans for which the planning application is virtually complete and so on!! If I can get the regeneration plans available on a laptop they will be there for people to look at.
As always with Rovers there’s no shortage of things to talk about. Wednesday is also an England night as they take on Macedonia so we are planning to watch that match on one of the big screens in one of the pubs near the Golden Fleece around the City of London.
So, if you are a Gashead living or working in or around London and you fancy a few drinks and plenty of talk about Rovers past present and future and football generally come along next Wednesday. You’ll be sure of a warm welcome. We will be in the “snug” at the back of the pub from about 6.30pm onwards.
The Golden Fleece can be found at 8 Queen Street, EC4N 1SP. As stated above we will be in the ‘snug’ at the back of the pub on the level you enter at Queen Street, which is between Queen Victoria Street and Cheapside. The nearest tube stations are Mansion House (Circle and District Lines) and Bank (Waterloo and City, Central and Northern Lines). If you come from Bank then take either exit 8 for Queen Victoria Street or exit 9 for Poultry / Cheapside. Cannon Street overground is also within easy walking distance and the following bus routes stop nearby: 8, 11, 21, 23, 25, 26,
43, 76, 113, 141, 242, 388.
