Bristol Rovers have been drawn AWAY at Tranmere Rovers in the 1st Round Proper of the FA Cup.

How many of these NEW Tranmere figures from the start of the season will still be at Prenton Park when we visit?

(Thankfully, the new manager honeymoon may have worn off for Micky Adams by the time we play them.)

Bristol Rovers have been drawn AWAY to Tranmere Rovers. The tie will take place on the weekend of November 8th.

The clubs have met just once in the FA Cup previously, with Tranmere winning 2-0 in the second round in 1931-32 thanks to goals from Sammy Meston and Ernie Dixon.

The only other cup meeting between Tranmere and Bristol Rovers was the 1989-90 Leyland DAF Cup Final.

This was played at Wembley Stadium which Johnny King’s side won 2-1, the goals coming from Jim Steel and Ian Muir.

(Anybody else still believe that Jim Steel fouled Geoff Twentyman when he scored his header in that Leyland Daf final? Do we owe them one? I guess we did not care so much that day because we were just so pleased to play at Wembley.)

(Anybody remember that late equalising penalty scored by that young player for us at Prenton Park in August 1991? A blaster into the top corner? What became of that young lad? Anybody know where he is now?)
