Adam Returns To U’s
November 12, 2014
Striker Adam Cunnington, who was an unused substitute for Rovers at Alfreton last night has been recalled by his parent club Cambridge United as they have injuries to a number of their recognised strikers.
Cunnington, who was scheduled to return to the Abbey Stadium after next week’s away game at Chester, said his goodbyes to team mates and staff last night and returns to Cambridge uncertain as to what the future holds for him.
Earlier this week he said; “I will go back, work as hard as I can, and give it my best shot and see what happens.”
Adam arrived at the Memorial Stadium on 22nd August after Rovers had failed to win any of their three opening games, and made his debut a day later in the 1-0 win against AFC Telford United.
He scored the first of his three goals for the club in the 2-1 win against FC Halifax Town on 30th August and also scored in the home games against Woking and Dover Athletic.
In all Adam appeared in 16 games for the club, the last of which came in Saturday’s FA Cup defeat at Tranmere.
We would like to wish Adam all the very best for the future.
