FA Trophy Round-Up
November 30, 2014
Saturday was not a good day if you were looking for `upsets` in the FA Trophy Third Qualifying Round as they were few and far between.
Most of the Vanarama Conference North and South sides facing tricky tests against lower league opposition came through unscathed, although four face replays.
But the two bottom teams in the Conference South, Weston-super-Mare and Staines Town, both have second chances after both opponents would have fancied their chances of causing an upset.
Especially at Wheatsheaf Park where Marcus Gayle`s young side came up against Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division leaders Poole Town.
The Dolphins though will now have home advantage after a 3-3 thriller in which Poole led 2-0, thanks to a Steve Devlin penalty after 17 minutes and then Neil Martin on 38 minutes.
But two goals in 2 minutes just before half-time from Elliott Buchanan and Elliott Charles pulled the Swans back on terms.
Luke Roberts restored the Dolphins lead just past the hour-mark, only for Ashley Lodge to equalise once more on 69 minutes.
Weston will have home advantage in their tie after holding Southern Division One Central side Bedford Town to a 0-0 draw at the New Eyrie.
