Romans Not Tigers

December 3, 2014

BRISTOL Rovers will be at home to Bath City in the first round of the FA Trophy after the Romans won 3-2 after extra time in tonight’s home third qualifying round replay.

Andy Watkins fired Bath into a 19th-minute lead, but Matt Groves equalised for Gloucester just before half-time.

Two goals in extra time from Ross Stearn booked Bath a place in the first round – and set up an intriguing derby against Rovers, who, of course, were their Twerton Park tenants for a decade.

The first-round games are scheduled for December 13, but with Bristol City at home to Crawley Town that day, the Rovers versus Bath game is likely to be moved to the Friday night or Sunday afternoon.
