Bristol Rovers have completed the loan signing of midfielder Josh Wakefield from Sky Bet Championship side AFC Bournemouth. The 21-year-old moves to the Memorial Stadium in a one-month loan deal.
Wakefield began a two-year scholarship with AFC Bournemouth in 2010 and has appeared in 3 League games for the Cherries. He made his debut when going on as a second half substitute against Scunthorpe United in April 2012.

He has spent time on loan with Wimborne Town, Hamworthy United, Dagenham & Redbridge, Dorchester Town, Welling United and Torquay United.
He has appeared in 10 games for Torquay United this season with 3 starts and 7 substitute appearances between the 23rd of August and 11th October, scoring once against Alfreton Town. Torquay United took 17 points from 10 games in his loan time.

Last season he played 18 times for Welling United between the 18th of January and 26th April. He started 13 times and was a substitute 5 times. He scored once against Lincoln City in a spell when Welling United took 22 points from 18 matches.
