July 22, 2015

Reading Goal Scorers:- Dominic Samuel (41), and Nick Blackman (68).

Bristol Rovers lost 2-0 to Championship Reading at the Memorial Stadium tonight.

Goals from Dominic Samuel and Nick Blackman gave the Royals their victory.

Jermaine Easter started up front with last season’s top scorer Matty Taylor.

Chris Lines, James Clarke and Cristian Montano started with Billy Bodin on the bench.

There was an early let off for Rovers with a goalmouth scramble.

Royals keeper, Ali Al-Habsi almost gifted Rovers a goal but Matt Taylor reacted slowly.

James Clarke, Matt Taylor and Chris Lines had good efforts saved by the acrobatic keeper.

A swift counter-attack by Reading on 41 minutes saw Tariqe Fosu pick out Dominic Samuel with a flighted cross and he scored from the rebound off Steve Mildenhall.

Midway through the second half another Tariqe Fosu cross found the substitute Nick Blackman who had an easy tap-in.

Rovers best chances then came from Ollie Clarke, Ellis Harrison and Nathan Blissett.

A fairly even game was settled by the clinical finishing of the Reading side.
