Stanley Preview

January 29, 2016

TWO Play off sides are looking upwards in Sky Bet League 2 this weekend.

Accrington Stanley meet Bristol Rovers at the Crown Ground on Saturday 30th January 2016.

With Oxford United not in action it gives both teams the opportunity to apply some pressure.

Bristol Rovers have been boosted by the signing of former New Zealand International Rory Fallon.

The 33-year-old striker, who played for his country in the 2010 World Cup Finals, has joined on a free transfer.

Manager Darrell Clarke said: “He’s an experienced footballer and something of an old fashioned striker.”

He added: “Rory will give us different options during games, especially when I want to change formations.”

BRFC travel to The Crown Ground as ASFC play only their second home fixture since mid-November.

Accrington Stanley have as many as four games in hand over some of the sides above them.

The hosts could climb as high as fifth with a win on Saturday; dependent on other results,

Victory for Bristol Rovers would see them move within a point of the automatic promotion places.

Form

Accrington Stanley have only lost two of their 10 home league games this season.

Bristol Rovers have won eight of their 14 fixtures on the road.
