BRSC Statement

September 2, 2016

(At the Bristol Rovers Supporters Club Committee regular meeting on Wednesday 31st August 2016

it was agreed that we would issue the following statement for members.)

Report to the BRSC Membership

We are delighted to report that the Board of Bristol Rovers and key Bristol Rovers Supporters Club personnel have held two positive meetings. A formal meeting in London in July was followed by a very purposeful and lengthy meeting in Bristol during August. There will be a further meeting during September in which a wide range of topics are due to be considered in more depth.

At these two meetings there was an honest and valuable sharing of views and an attempt to clarify the path ahead for each organisation. The supporters club and the board needed the opportunity presented by these meetings to clarify roles and responsibilities for the future. Both organisations needed to outline their perspective on various issues so that we can jointly agree on the best future strategy.

Among the topics initially discussed were the supporter’s club fund-raising objectives in the years ahead and the future of the BRSC share scheme agreement. We also discussed match-day operations, away travel and the links between Pirate Leisure and the BRSC shop at 199 Two Mile Hill Road. Some time was spent examining the role of the supporter’s club directors, future fans forums and the updating of facilities at The Memorial Stadium.

We are working together in an attempt to progress and develop, in the not too distant future, some of the topics we initially discussed. When all matters are agreed by both the Bristol Rovers Board and the Bristol Rovers Supporters Club we will be delighted to inform the membership.

The supporters club committee will strive to continue serving the best interests of the members of the Bristol Rovers Supporters Club. We are fully committed to maintaining a close and productive working relationship with the Board of Bristol Rovers Football Club and we totally support their mission and vision for Bristol Rovers FC.
