The Match Officials for the Millwall Home fixture have been announced.

Match Referee: DARREN HANDLEY. 

Assistant Referees: Ian Smedley and Danny Gratton. 

Fourth Official: Timothy Wood. 

Bolton referee Darren Handley was at The Memorial Stadium just 6 weeks ago.

He was in charge for the Chesterfield match on Saturday 18th March 2017.

Bristol Rovers won that match 2-1 thanks to early goals from Ollie Clarke and Rory Gaffney.

A penalty awarded to Bristol Rovers in the 39th minute was saved in this encounter by the giant frame of Thorsten Stuckmann.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake scored the 85th minute consolation goal for The Spireites.

Darren Handley was also the referee for the 3-3 draw at MK Dons on Tuesday 18th October 2016.

A former striker scored a hat-trick that evening, including two very late goals.

He was also the referee when Bristol Rovers beat York City 4-1 on Saturday 30th April 2016.

In that encounter Billy Bodin scored twice and Lee Mansell and Jermaine Easter also scored.

In that game the goals came from Billy Bodin, an ex-striker and Jermaine Easter.

This season Darren Handley has refereed 39 games and given 130 Yellow Cards, 2 Red Cards and 7 Penalties.

Darren Handley has been the referee on only 2 occasions for Millwall FC.

He last took charge of a Lions match on Sunday 19th December 2015 when Gillingham won 3-0 at The Den.

Millwall’s first choice 24 year-old goalkeeper Jordan Archer was sent off in the 25th minute in that game.

His only other Millwall FC appointment was on Saturday 12th September when Millwall won 3-1 at Crewe Alexandra.

In that match 23 year-old Aiden Anthony O’Brien scored a hat-trick.

A definite threat on Sunday afternoon, Aiden O’Brien has scored 15 goals so far this season.

Darren’s last appointment was on Saturday 22nd April 2017 for Colchester United 0 v 0 Plymouth Argyle.
