Chelsea Coaches Update
August 29, 2016
We are progressing our investigations regarding the coach travel issues on Tuesday 23rd August 2016.
A meeting with the coach operator is scheduled for Tuesday 30th August 2016.
Shortly after this meeting, a BRSC Committee meeting is planned to consider the next steps.
There were 14 supporters club coaches organised for the EFL Round Two Cup Match at Stamford Bridge.
Six of those departed from The Kingsway in Kingswood and eight were from the Memorial Stadium.
The scheduled departure time was 3.15 pm from both locations.
Most of the coach journeys ran smoothly but not all supporters had a hassle free experience.
We apologise to any supporter who travelled on the official coaches and had a less than satisfactory experience.
Our investigation to date indicates a complex chain of events rather than a straightforward cause.
The coach that departed first was eventually the very last coach to arrive at Stamford Bridge.
A comfort break was planned for the outward journey but some coaches stopped longer than desirable.
Some coaches deviated from the original planned route and ended up arriving much later than intended.
A number of coaches seemed to find considerable difficulty with the last section of the journey.
Locating the specific coach parking zone was especially problematic for some coaches.
Our thanks to those supporters who have contacted us with their concerns.
We hope to be able to conclude our investigation shortly and we will then report our findings to supporters.
